Uptime Institute Completes Acquisition of LEET Security to Deliver Comprehensive Cyber Security Rating System

Today, LEET Security announced it has been acquired by Uptime Institute, the Global Digital Infrastructure Authority. This follows a major equity investment made in early 2022 into Uptime Institute by Dominus Capital, L.P. a leading New York City based private equity firm specializing in investing in companies that have significant long-term potential for growth.

Uptime’s Tier Standard is the IT industry’s most trusted and adopted global standard for the design, construction, and operation of data centers – the backbone of the digital economy. Its Tier Standard and Certifications, Assessments, Intelligence research services, and accredited training courses (now including the recently acquired Cnet Training, Ltd of the UK) have been completed by over 100,000 data center professionals. Joining Uptime Institute will afford us the resources to accelerate our development and continue to lead the way in the field of cyber security ratings while providing an additional set of tools, services and solutions with the depth and breadth required to meet our customers’ changing requirements. The availability of a single, integrated portfolio of services from both companies will provide the most comprehensive tools globally for the assessment of operational risks in the design, management, and operation of digital infrastructures.

Of great importance and particularly noteworthy to our customers, is Uptime Institute "Standardized Comprehensive Infrastructure Risk Assessment for Financial Sector Institutions" (SCIRA-FSI). This assessment has been specially designed to help in complying with the sectoral regulations of the European Banking Authority (EBA) and the recently published DORA regulation. The SCIRA-FSI assessment complements the PINAKES platform, developed by LEET Security and managed by the Interbank Cooperation Center (CCI) to serve financial institutions operating in Spain.

LEET Security will continue to update and perform evaluations with our rating methodology, which has been very useful for the suppliers as a means to accredit the level of security of their services to their clients. The entities under the scope of the NIS2 directive can rely on LEET’s rating to demonstrate, to the competent authorities, their compliance with security requirements, and to the management bodies the obligation to control its implementation.

As part of agreement, I am also delighted to confirm I will continue to lead LEET Security, reporting to Martin V. McCarthy, chief executive officer, Uptime Institute. I am also pleased that Alfonso Pastor will continue to lead our commercial relationships with existing and customers, championing the combined value proposition and spearheading our customer advocacy activities.
